The boarding house offers up to 20 children an environment that is as close to a normal family life as possible. They attend the local Thai school and learn English, Shan, Burmese and computer skills at the camp in the evenings.

In 2015, after seeing a presentation of our work, the Chiang Mai International Rotary Club (CMIRC) told us that they collect clothes once a year to donate and were interested in a project to support. Aware of the situation in Koung Jor, we proposed to CMIRC that they donate winter clothing to the camp. They have continued this kind of support to Koung Jor and many more of our partners every year since.

A nursery with a leaking roof is no environment for children. Thanks to our sponsor, the Brodtbeck Philanthropy Foundation, and partnership with the Shan Women's Action Network (SWAN), we will ensure that the roof is renovated. The children and teachers at Koung Jor Nursery School will no longer have to worry about the rainy season or a leaking roof.
