Our Projects

Projects are the foundation of Philanthropy Connections. We take a two-step approach to our project involvement. First, we seek out community-driven initiatives started by local people to benefit their communities and improve their quality of life. Second, we connect these projects with sponsors willing to fund these activities.

Our Work

Philanthropy Connections was founded to find and help people in need. It is the common thread in all we do. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we work to positively change the lives of the less fortunate. Those who we assist, find strength in the fact that people like you, our sponsors, help them to build a better future.

How to get Involved

You can either become a sponsor, or a donor. Sponsors choose to financially underwrite an entire project, and donors choose to contribute to help sustain our operations, as well as help fund our projects as needed. Sponsors and donors can be individuals, families, organisations, or businesses.

Before he passed away in January 2023, Rob Waardenburg decided personally to sponsor full scholarships for Thai or indigenous/ethnic minority students who are around 12 years old with disadvantaged backgrounds. Rob Waardenburg's legacy continues to uphold the dreams.

Meet Apiwich, one of Rob Waardenburg's legacy students. Apiwich lives with their father, who supports the family through various sporadic labor jobs, especially since the pandemic affected his career as a tour guide. Despite the challenges, Apiwich dreams of becoming a doctor and works hard to achieve their goal.

Thanks to the generous support of Rob Waardenburg, these students are able to pursue their dreams. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Rob Waardenburg for making a lasting impact on these young lives.

In these challenging times, our workload has increased. Alongside our regular projects, urgent appeals for emergency aid, especially from Myanmar, continue to come in. Thanks to donors like you, we achieved significant impact last year, helping over 6.200 displaced individuals.

Your contribution, regardless of size, brings real change to those affected by crisis and adversity. For my birthday, I ask for your support for our humanitarian efforts. Let’s show them they’re not forgotten.

We understand that not everyone may be able to make a financial contribution, but by sharing or forwarding this message, you can significantly increase the reach and impact of our campaign. The more people get to know us, the greater the chance that we will receive more support for our work.

What would you do if your parents asked you to drop out of school to help earn money to support your family? This is the choice faced by so many... and it is why we believe it is so important to help provide scholarships to students who would otherwise have to make this choice.
