  • Summary

Ban Soblan School and Ban Kun Mae Tuen Noi School submitted requests to Philanthropy Connections Foundation (PCF) for help with their overall lack of basic school materials and stationery for their students. Ban Soblan School needed stationery, sports equipment, library bookshelves and a range of reading materials for learners of different ages. Learners at BanKun Mae Tuen Noi School also needed stationery.

  • Background

Ban Soblan School  and BanKun Mae Tuen Noi School  are in the of the Mother Tongue Based-MultiLingual Education Programme (MTB-MLE)  implemented by our partner, the Foundation for Applied Linguistics (FAL). The schools are in very remote areas and difficult to reach. This invaluable support will further encourage the principal, the teachers, and the children to continue the MTB-MLE programme.

Ethnic children often grow up in remote regions, speaking only their mother tongue. Without proficiency in Thai, underserved infants may never escape the cycle of poverty that so many ethnic groups in Thailand are caught up in. The MTB-MLE programme helps students develop essential Thai language skills from an early age so they can take advantage of future work opportunities.

  • Goals and Results

To provide school supplies and equipment for two schools in very remote areas, so the students can gain knowledge and develop skills to reach their full potential.
