Background
The Scholarship for Basic Education project, supported by Rob Waardenburg’s Legacy, aims to provide educational opportunities for underprivileged students in northern Thailand. Initiated by the late Rob Waardenburg, the project focuses on supporting children from marginalised backgrounds, particularly those from indigenous and ethnic minority communities. The scholarships cover school fees, uniforms, living expenses, and transportation, ensuring that students can continue their education despite financial hardships.

Goals and Results
Goals: The project seeks to provide financial support to underprivileged students, helping them to complete their basic education and pursue further opportunities.
Results: In 2023, four students benefited from the scholarships, enabling them to continue their education without financial barriers. Each student has made significant academic and personal progress, with one student progressing to vocational training. The project has alleviated the financial burden on their families and contributed to the students’ long-term educational development.
